This affects only those individuals who live within a 50 mile driving radius of the College of Charleston (66 George St., Charleston, SC 29424). To determine your proximity, please visit MapQuest.com. Due to existing state travel policy, if the mileage between your home and the academy site is less than fifty miles, no reimbursement for overnight accommodations can be made (please see "19-101.16. Overnight Accommodations" for additional details). This means that the grant that is paying for this portion of the project is prohibited from paying for your stay and you must commute daily to attend the program. Parking passes will be provided at no cost to you.
Those living within this fifty mile radius are encouraged and welcomed to stay at the provided lodging, however as noted, the project cannot pay for your dormitory costs. This means that you can stay at the dorm if you, or your employer, are willing to pay for the cost of your room. We have negotiated a room rate of TBA (without taxes) nightly. If you are interested in this option, please contact our project staff at (843) 792-2945.
All students are expected to participate fully in this intensive 40-hour training program. Participation includes attendance at all sessions. Breakfast and lunch meals will be provided to you. You are responsible for your evening meal. |
